William W. Wood, the principal of Wakefield Chemistry Consulting LLC, is a chemist with over forty years' experience in the field. After a short stint teaching at the University of Sheffield, William spent over thirteen years as a discovery chemistry in fungicides and insecticides, working for Shell Research, American Cyanamid (and its successor companies), and BASF in both the UK and USA, finishing that part of his career as Manager of Global Insecticide Discovery for BASF.
The second half of William’s career was spent with Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, where he led the Research Products Department for over eighteen years. Managing a staff of over 40 scientists and technicians, He was responsible for the design and execution of hundreds of synthesis projects in the stable isotope field.
William is an author on over fifty publications, including primary research papers, review articles, patents and monographs.
William retired for Cambridge Isotopes in 2020 and is now the Principal of Wakefield Chemistry Consulting LLC.
